Tiffany brings a unique blend of expertise and compassion to her practice, as our Lead Occupational Therapist. Tiffany is known for her calm and fun approach to therapy, creating a supportive and engaging environment for her clients. Tiffany is dedicated to providing comprehensive assessments, personalised therapy plans and ongoing advocacy and guidance, that not only address the child’s needs but also support the caregivers in the journey towards improved health and wellbeing. Tiffany considers all environments and works closely with the child’s family, school, day care or work to provide recommendations and support. Tifany works across a range of clinics here at Western Kids Health including the School Aged Service, Mental Health, Complex Care and Early Intervention team.

Tiffany has dedicated her career to working with children and adolescents. She has worked as an occupational therapist for ten years in Perth in paediatric private practice and inpatient mental health. Tiffany has experience working with individuals aged 2- 20 years, with a wide range of developmental disorders and disabilities. She is skilled to work with those who have fine and gross motor delays, chronic conditions, pain and fatigue, sensory processing difficulties, handwriting challenges, difficulties with self-care, toileting, sleep, behavioural challenges, attention and concentration, social and play skills.

Tiffany is passionate about advocating for her client’s needs and is able to complete assessment and reporting for School Curriculum and Standards Authority (SCSA) applications. Tiffany is a qualified children’s yoga instructor and can incorporate yoga and breathing techniques into the child’s therapy. Tiffany can also adapt yoga to be safe and meet the needs of individuals with connective tissue disorders. Tiffany enjoys running social skill groups, high school readiness groups, yoga groups and has been involved in running the TARGiT program aimed at providing management for teenagers with chronic conditions. Throughout her career, Tiffany has been invited to present professional development workshops and seminars to a variety of organisations and schools, sharing her knowledge and insights with parents, teachers, educators, allied health professionals, specialists and the wider community.

Tiffany’s particular area of interest and expertise is supporting children and adolescents with emotional regulation, distress, anxiety, low mood or diagnosed mental health conditions, assisting them in getting back into the things they love to do. Tiffany is a Medicare endorsed provider under the Better Access the Mental Health scheme, meaning she can support those with a Mental Health Care Plan, access occupational therapy using Focused Psychological Strategies. Tiffany also has a special interest in empowering parents to support their child’s development. In addition to working with her young clients, Tiffany offers individual parent coaching sessions through the Triple P (Positive Parenting Program).

Katie Stephen

Katie is passionate about using a family-centred practice approach and involving parents and other key stakeholders in therapy to ensure the best outcomes for clients. She also enjoys working within a multi-disciplinary team and watching all the pieces of the puzzle come together to support clients achieve their goals.

Katie graduated with a Bachelor of Science (Occupational Therapy) from Edith Cowan University in 2014.

Since graduating, Katie has worked across both the private paediatric and non-government sector, with her recent experience supporting clients under the age of 8 with a range of diagnoses, including Autism and ADHD. She has experience with developing fine motor skills, emotional regulation, sensory regulation, play skills and social skills and has a passion for supporting clients to live their lives to the fullest.

Katie’s clinical interests primarily revolve around early intervention, particularly in addressing challenging behaviours and developing emotional regulation.

Genevieve also has experience working with children and families with NDIS, completing school screens for Kindy and pre-primary classes and running our Handwriting 1.0 groups for 5-6-year-olds and Handwriting 2.0 groups for 7-9-year-olds.

Millie developed her passion for working with children through her strong family values. She is passionate about working with families as a whole including parents, siblings, other therapists and teachers to support a child in all environments. Millie aims to create a fun environment within the clinic for children to learn, explore and thrive. When she is not at work, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends and being outdoors!

Millie has experience working with a range of children in our school aged services team. She frequently runs handwriting, social skills and school readiness groups at both clinics in Hillary’s and Shenton Park.

Millie has an interest in assisting school-aged children grow and develop their skills in handwriting, fine and gross motor skills, attention and concentration, social skills and self-regulation. Millie has a strong passion for family-centred care ensuring that elements of therapy are able to be replicated in the home environment

Introduction – Keely is a passionate and life-loving Occupational Therapist who has always had a deep connection with children, starting her journey in the Paediatric field well before graduating as an OT. With a strong dedication to mental health, Keely supports children, adolescents, and their families through various stages of their development, providing comprehensive care that addresses both emotional and functional needs.
Keely works across a range of clinics at Western Kids Health, including School Aged Services, Mental Health, Complex Care, and Early Intervention. She values a holistic approach, striving to empower individuals and their families by addressing all aspects of their lives. Keely collaborates closely with the multidisciplinary team at Western Kids Health, ensuring her clients receive tailored and cohesive care.

Outside of work, Keely enjoys spending time outdoors with her Bernese Mountain Dog, Ralph. Ralph is an accredited Level 1 Therapy Dog and a member of the Western Kids Health team, providing emotional support and comfort to children and families as they work toward their OT goals. You might even spot Ralph around the clinic, lending a paw in helping clients through their therapeutic journey.

Keely has always been passionate about working with children and adolescents, dedicating her career to the paediatric field for over seven years. Her experience has primarily been working in private practice, however she has also worked within the not-for-profit sector, where she worked extensively with children facing complex childhood trauma. Additionally Keely has worked privately as a Hand Therapist, bringing a unique blend of skills to her current role, particularly in the areas of Motor-Based Dysgraphia assessments and School Curriculum and Standards Authority (SCSA) applications.
Keely has extensive experience working with complex presentations, including neurodiversity and mental health. She is committed to ongoing learning and staying up to date with the latest evidence and research to provide the best possible support for children and their families. Her expertise extends to working with parents and families, having completed Level 1 in Family Therapy. Additionally, Keely is an accredited facilitator of parenting programs such as Tuning in to Kids and Circle of Security, which she hopes to bring to Western Kids Health soon.

A strong advocate for children, adolescents, and their families, Keely is dedicated to helping individuals reach their fullest potential, providing holistic and compassionate care throughout their therapeutic journey.

keely’s particular areas of interest and expertise lie in supporting children and adolescents with mental health challenges, neurodiversity, including ADHD, Autism, and PDA, as well as anxiety, emotional regulation difficulties, and other diagnosed health conditions. As a Medicare-endorsed provider under the Better Access to Mental Health scheme, Keely can support clients with a Mental Health Care Plan, offering occupational therapy services using Focused Psychological Strategies.
Keely is also passionate about empowering parents to support their child’s development. She is a trained facilitator in programs such as Tuning in to Kids and Circle of Security, which allows her to provide individualised parent coaching. Additionally, Keely has recently completed her Therapy Dog training with her Bernese Mountain Dog, Ralph. Emily is passionate about occupational therapy as a profession. She is firmly focused on the end goal, of supporting children to do what they want and need to do by utilising their strengths and the environment around them. She strives for a compassionate and thoughtful approach to intervention and families. Emily is passionate about raising awareness and acceptance of invisible conditions in the community. She doesn’t sleep much, as the mother of a three under four and two barky dogs.

Emily worked for several years as part of the complex care team at Western Kids Health, with young people experiencing a range of connective tissue disorders, chronic pain and functional neurological disorders. She has also worked in aged care, adult disability services, and early intervention. She has presented for the Ehlers Danlos Australia, ECIA, Australian & New Zealand Society of Paediatric Dentistry, Catholic Schools Association and Playgroup WA.

Emily is currently focusing on project development, including educational best- practice modules for new occupational therapists and research into handwriting and hypermobility. She will consider providing individual support on a case- by case basis

Alyse has extensive experience across the age ranges in paediatrics. Alyse is passionate about working with children, youth and their families to provide early positive experiences in health and movement, facilitating lifelong positive behaviours and outcomes. Alyse believes working at Western Kids, being a part of an integrated team that works collaboratively with families, creates such a positive work environment whilst optimising outcomes.  Outside of work Alyse loves sourcing the best new eateries in Perth! She also enjoys getting outside for a run, hike and camp in nature.

Alyse has been involved in competitive gymnastics since she was young, including as a national levels gymnast. She has also been a coach for over 10 years which has allowed her to develop an excellent eye for movement analysis, and being able to translate observations into areas for improvement in strength and conditioning.

Alyse has worked across many sectors of our health system including community and tertiary care, in a variety of rotational areas including spinal rehab, orthopaedics, neurology and intensive care. Alyse worked in tertiary and community settings and abroad in the UK for two years, working community paediatrics, with children at a special needs school and in various roles across the NHS as a Senior Physiotherapist.

Upon moving back to Australia, Alyse prioritised working in a paediatric setting and had the opportunity to utilise my breadth of experience to help babies and children in early intervention. Now as the Physiotherapy lead at Western Kids, Alyse supports the training of all our new graduate physiotherapists and students.

Alyse loves having variety in her day, between clients, teaching opportunities and working as a team.

Georgia is passionate about empowering children of all ages and optimising their quality of life. Georgia strives to make therapy engaging, fun and something the children look forward too. Georgia has a special interest in children with coordination difficulties, newborns, and infants.

Georgia leads our Learn to Ride individual and group programs.

Georgia, an avid sportswoman has been involved in competitive water-based sports since she was young, including national league waterpolo and international open water swimming.

When Georgia is not working, she loves to swim, play waterpolo, go to the gym, bake, and spend time at the beach with her two labradoodles, Coco, and Milo.

Victoria graduated from the University of Notre Dame in 2020 and worked at a community disability provider in the Lower South West before moving back to Perth and joining Western Kids Health in early 2022. It was in her first job that Victoria realised her passion lay within paediatrics and she has pursued a path in this area since then.

Growing up Victoria lived overseas with her family until she returned to Perth to finish off her senior schooling. During this time Victoria participated in several competitive sports but her favourite was artistic gymnastics. Victoria grew up attending Physio’s to help manage injuries and ensure she remained strong and healthy while competing. This has provided her with invaluable first-hand experience on what it is like to have to balance school, rehabilitation, social life, and sporting endeavours.

Victoria enjoys working with children of all ages from infants to teenagers ensuring therapy is goal directed, meaningful, and fun.

During her free time Victoria is currently enjoying running with her friends all around Perth. She has jumped on the running trend that is taking over the world.

Tim graduated from Curtin University in 2022 with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy with Distinction and member of the Vice Chancellors List. Tim is heavily involved in a number of different sports including Field Hockey and Surf Life Saving, where he stills competes in the open divisions and volunteers as part of life saving operations. Tim has had longstanding passion for working in paediatrics, Tim strives to make therapy fun and enjoyable for children of all ages, but most importantly making it meaningful to children and their families to best achieve their goals. When he is not working you will probably find Tim swimming at the beach or spending time with friends and family.

Tim has had a wide range of exposure to different paediatric conditions as part of working at Western Kids Health. This includes helping infants with developing milestones all the way up to older teens. As a student physiotherapist Tim worked at Perth Children’s Hospital working in rehabilitation for children with neurological disorders. Before work as a physiotherapist Tim worked in a number of different roles including Swimming Teacher, Surf Life Saving Community Instructor and Sports Trainer for various sporting clubs. Tim strives to use this range of experience to complement his physiotherapy education.

Tim enjoys working with children of all ages. He has a particular interest in Hydrotherapy, working with infants and children in an aquatic setting to achieve their goals in a fun and different environment. Tim also has an area of interest in working with primary school aged children and helping them with skill development of key gross motor skills such as running, jumping and skipping.

Felicity Palmer

Felicity graduated from The University of Notre Dame in 2023 with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy. During her degree she developed a passion for working with children of all ages to achieve their goals. Felicity has witnessed the power of play through her three years of volunteering at Perth Children’s Hospital and strives to make her therapies engaging and meaningful.

When not at work you’ll find Felicity at the beach or hanging out with her dog Winnie. She enjoys Pilates, iced lattes and spending time with loved ones.

At Western Kids Health Felicity has assisted the facilitation of our holiday bike riding program as well as group classes for upper and lower primary school children. As a student Felicity worked in a tertiary hospital as a Physiotherapy Assistant and this complimented her studies across the lifespan. Following a placement at Perth Children’s Hospital, she solidified her passion for paediatrics and enjoys working with children of all ages to achieve their goals.

Growing up as a dancer, Felicity was a part of a preprofessional ballet program followed by a competitive dance team and is dedicated to the prevention, management and rehabilitation of injuries in all children and youth.

Flic has a special interest in working with;

Rowan is a dedicated clinician whose approach is characterised by collaboration and empathy. Rowan excels in navigating the delicate balance of providing a space to hear an individual’s journey while also being proactive in creating a plan for moving forward.

Some of Rowan‘s exceptional qualities is his profound listening skills and collaborative approach. He goes beyond surface-level interactions, diving deeply and comprehensively to truly understand the nuances of what each individual is experiencing. This commitment to understanding enables Rowan to connect with young people then tailor a personalised approach to support the unique needs of each person in his care.

In his spare time, Rowan loves to spend time with his border collie Blu, keeping active with surfing, trail running and getting crafty with DIY home renovations.

Rowan is a senior physiotherapist and Head of our Complex Care Clinic. He is well-known for his work with hundreds of children and teenagers with diagnoses of JIA, Ehlers Danlos syndrome, hypermobility spectrum disorder, persistent pain or chronic fatigue and functional neurological disorders (FND). As part of his role as Head of the Complex Care Clinic, Rowan leads the multidisciplinary team which includes the POP Program, supporting individuals and families with complex conditions. Rowan places importance on committing his time in the community with his involvement in education and exercise sessions for the Arthritis Foundation WA’s Camp Freedom, hydrotherapy programs and strength & conditioning programs led for children and teens with chronic conditions (hypermobile spectrum disorder/EDS; JIA and persistent pain). He also has run several educational workshops with students and teachers in primary and high schools on hypermobility/EDS and JIA. Rowan‘s role extends into mentoring and teaching other health professionals including physiotherapists, psychologists and occupational therapists within and outside of Western Kids Health. Rowan has recently presented Western Kids Health’s programs and approach at the Ehlers Danlos Society’s Centre of Excellence launch in Baltimore, USA.

Rowan is happy and experienced to see children, adolescents or young adults across the lifespan with a range of different issues. He is particularly interested in the area of pain, rheumatology and functional issues.
Tyler Mahon

Tyler is a paediatric speech pathologist with extensive experience, who is passionate about supporting children and families with the best evidence-based treatment options. She is determined to provide clear diagnostic information and collaboratively work together with parents to develop an individualised therapy plan to maximise a child’s progress, while also incorporating a good dose of fun. Her passions are stuttering, complex speech sound disorders, and language and literacy disorders, including Developmental Language Disorder (DLD) and dyslexia. She is also generous in sharing her experience with other speech pathologists. Outside of work she is most happy when she manages to get her globetrotting children together for family catch ups. She also enjoys seaside walks, art, and travel.

I have over 30 years in paediatric speech pathology, working in health, education, university, telehealth, and private practice settings across Australia. I have been involved in projects to develop multidisciplinary assessment services, group therapy programs (early language, parent training, and stuttering), and to develop the skills of speech pathology students, education staff, and less experienced speech pathologists.

I have particular expertise in the areas of stuttering, language and literacy disorders, speech sound disorders, supervision of staff, and also multidiscipline team assessment of neurodiverse children. My focus is to ensure that every child and family has access the best individualised evidence-based services to support their communication and literacy skills. My approach is strengths-based. I aim to provide families with the relevant information so that they can make well-informed decisions about what is best for their child.

Amelia possesses a comprehensive background in paediatric speech pathology, encompassing various presentations such as developmental delay and disability. Her expertise extends to specialized areas including spelling and literacy intervention, mealtimes, early intervention for children below 4 years of age, language skills encompassing both understanding and expression, stuttering, speech sound delay and disorder. Additionally, Amelia has garnered experience in supporting the assessment and prescription of alternative communication devices.

Prior to graduating from Curtin University, Amelia served as a disability support worker, offering invaluable assistance to a young family with a child experiencing disability. Following her graduation, she transitioned to a role as a sole trader within a private practice setting, honing her skills and expertise. Subsequently, Amelia transitioned to a paediatric NDIS provider, specialising in catering to children with vision impairments, further enriching her breadth of experience in paediatric speech pathology.

Amelia’s special areas of interest are within early intervention, specifically children who are ‘late talkers.’ She enjoys working closely with children and their family to ensure parents feel empowered to support their child’s communication. Amelia is passionate about making therapy meaning to each child and their family.

Christelle is a bilingual (English – French) speech pathologist who is passionate about working  with children aged 2 to 18 years old.
Christelle understands each child’s individual circumstance and enjoys having a flexible yet fun approach to suit every child’s need. She is passionate about family education and building on their child’s strengths to see positive outcomes.
Outside of work, Christelle has a young 4 year old little boy who keeps her busy, two birds and two fish. She enjoys spending bike riding with her family and loves cooking.
Christelle holds a Bachelor of Science (Speech pathology) Honours from Edith Cowan University. She strongly values ongoing learning and professional development to keep up to date with best practice and provide quality therapy provision. Her recent professional development includes:

Christelle has worked in paediatrics since graduating from university, with experience in private practice. She enjoys professional development opportunities and working on new research topics.

Brooke is a caring and compassionate dietitian, working collaboratively with children and parents to develop practical and achievable solutions to their food and diet concerns. Brooke also works as part of the multidisplinary feeding team, helping toddlers through to teens to expand their diet and feel confident at mealtimes. Brooke’s ultimate aim is to alleviate the stress around food and make mealtimes an enjoyable experience.

Verusha Kander

Verusha is a warm and empathic psychologist dedicated to working collaboratively with young people and their families to develop a deeper understanding of their difficulties in order to identify what skills or strategies may be helpful for them. She utilises a strengths-based approach that incorporates evidence-based techniques such as cognitive behaviour therapy, dialectical behaviour therapy, mindfulness, and behaviour-attachment-systems interventions. Verusha is passionate about working with the whole family system to ensure lasting change beyond the treatment sessions.

When not at work, Verusha enjoys spending time at the beach, doing laps in the pool and throwing clay onto a pottery wheel.

Verusha holds a Master of Clinical Psychology from the University of Sydney and is currently completing her final year in the clinical psychology registrar program. Throughout her registrar program, she has pursued additional professional development in various areas, including the Circle of Security Parenting Program, Collaborative and Proactive Solutions, Schema Therapy in Emerging Adulthood, and Functional Neurological Disorder: Psychological Treatment

Verusha’s clinical experiences span across both private and public health sectors in Western Australia and New South Wales. Verusha has worked in Child Development Services, Perth Children’s Hospital, an intensive day-therapy program for adolescents with eating disorders at Sydney Children’s Hospital, an anxiety research and treatment unit, a university-based psychology clinic, and an autism-specific early intervention centre. At Western Kids Health, Verusha works across the Mental Health Clinic, Complex Care Clinic, and Gender Diversity Clinic.

Verusha’s clinical interests lie in working with children and adolescents dealing with anxiety-based presentations, mood disturbances, adjustment difficulties, school-related concerns and medical conditions. Additionally, she is deeply passionate about providing support to gender-diverse youth and their families.

Phoebe Carrington-Jones

Phoebe knows coming to see a psychologist is often a very challenging decision, so she prioritises using her warmth, compassion and humour to create a safe space and make people feel comfortable. She also works collaboratively with clients and their families, exploring together what their goals are, and what therapy may be most helpful. The therapeutic approaches she uses include Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Imagery Rescripting, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behaviour Therapy and mindfulness interventions.

Phoebe has a range of clinical experiences, having worked in a variety of settings, including a university psychology clinic, an intensive CAMHS day-program for children with behaviour and school engagement challenges, a remote private practice in the Pilbara and child protection.

Phoebe particularly enjoys working with children and young adults who are currently having difficulties with mood (including depression), chronic pain, anxiety, sleep and trauma.

Ralph is just as passionate about going to work as he is about going to the beach! As an accredited Level 1 Therapy Dog, Ralph is an important part of the Western Kids Health team, helping children and adolescents achieve their therapy goals.

Ralph works one day a week alongside his handler, Keely Kenton, providing animal-assisted therapy to a range of children and adolescents across our clinics.

In sessions, Ralph offers emotional support, helps kids read and understand body cues to develop social skills, assists with self-regulation, and builds confidence. Outside of work, Ralph is a social butterfly who loves accompanying Keely on adventures—whether it’s to the beach, river, or hikes in the hills!

Kathryn Monaco provides a sensitive and engaging therapy space for children to develop their skills to cope and adjust to life changes. Kathryn has a rich knowledge of attachment, development, neurodiversity and mental health in children. Through play and conversation, Kathryn works with the child to develop their self awareness and problem solving skills to grow!

Kathryn enjoys working with parents in supporting their parenting journey, and widening their understanding of their child’s needs. Kathryn works collaboratively with medical and health specialists, and educators to assist with a child’s treatment plan. Kathryn frames her child session’s based on the child’s age and ability using the following treatment approaches: cognitive behaviour therapy, dialectical behavioural therapy, acceptance commitment therapy.

Kathryn has 15 years’ experience working as an Educational & Developmental Psychologist in private and government settings.
Kathryn’s interests are working with children (0-16 years of age) in developing their ability to copy and problem solve to assist in their emotional regulation, relationships and self awareness. This includes anxiety/worry, adjustment difficulties, anger, social skills, shyness. Kathryn has extensive experience working with children with neurodiversity and educational based challenges.

She collaborates closely with caregivers, schools, and community services to ensure consistent and holistic care across all areas of the child’s life.

Outside of work, Ashleigh enjoys teaching yoga, rock climbing, bird watching, gaming, and knitting. Her passion for mindfulness and active living is reflected in her therapy sessions, where she incorporates movement and sensory activities to support children’s growth. Ashleigh’s diverse interests contribute to her ability to connect with children and families, bringing creativity and energy to her therapeutic approach.
